The Superbowl took a backseat to the BBQ we prepared. This was our first attempt at making Pastrami and outside of brining it is much like cooking a brisket with the exception you add no salt to the final seasoning.

Another first of the day was smoked meatloaf. I have never seen a meatloaf with a smoke ring until Superbowl sunday. The meatloaf was chuck and brisket but for the binder we used apple sauce vs egg. Have you ever seen a smoke ring on meatloaf?

    The 4 probe Meater Block has a back that is held on by magnets. Remove the back and install 4 AA batteries. 8 hours later all 4 of your probes are charged (while the block is off).
